The process has been kind of annoying/interesting.
I was trying to get the Estima to leave in April, so that it could arrive by the end of June 2025. I was planning a trip to Banff (which was changed). From what I have been told, it takes like 8 weeks to get from Japan to Canada.
Anyways, the updates were becoming sparse and I was really just waiting for an update on the Japan side. I finally asked and it was said to be confirmed 6/30 leaving date.
Well, that didn’t happen. So I waited and asked after. I then get an message saying that the Vancouver Island port has been backed up and that he (the shop in Japan) has asked to move the port destination to New Westminster.
I was in Canada for a 11 days from mid June to early July. I would be returning to Canada at the end of July.
Surprise!!!
The week July 24th, before I was going to leave to Canada, I get a call from Kody (Beyond Limits Imports) and said that the Estima will arrive probably on Tuesday, July 29th. I actually leave Canada July 28th.
I was kind of shocked to see this as I was thinking it was going for inspection… but for it to arrive..
